Another lovely person with an amazing sale on...

Miss Kapow! How could I not notice your incredibly generous sale over on Folksy at the moment! Now I've had my pick of lovely things (mwah ha ha), everyone else, have at it!

You won't be disappointed :) Not with offbeat and laugh out loud funny cards like these Creepy Christmas numbers... Even Radio 1 was playing that song at teatime the other day, you can't help but sing along.

Nearly there...

The blanket I'm working on for my new nephew (due any day) is almost there...

Reindeer food

I read about this nifty little trick on a parenting website and thought it was worth sharing here. My niece is coming up for three years old and I thought she might appreciate it!

Don't tell the little ones, but it's just a box with some cat biscuits in the bottom! I've also heard of people doing this with oats mixed with glitter, but I thought my sister might have a bit of explaining to do once that didn't disappear from her tiny front garden overnight...

Sneak peek on Christmas presents

Now that Amelia is starting to nap a little bit more consistently, I'm getting the chance to finish off projects I started ages ago.

Without giving too much away, this Christmas present needs buttons... but which set?

These vintage buttons from Canada look like teeny little olives.. too cute!

But I like the contrast of the green yarn and these fawn-coloured flower pattern buttons...

Or these shiny pale green beauties, which I'm a little reluctant to say goodbye to just yet...

What do you reckon?

Replacement knitting

My friend (and bridesmaid) Jenn is off to live in Nepal again soon, and was hoping to take with her the shrug I made to match her bridesmaid dress last summer. So in preparations for setting off, she popped it in the washing machine and forgot that hot water and agitation is NOT the best friend of animal fibres.

So here I go, making her a new one in her signature colour of hot pink to match the legwarmers and gloves I also put together for her last year. I think I'll be making one great big clothing care label to go with it, before I'm able to give it to her in person next weekend at our friend Sarah's wedding.

Recap on where to buy...

Did you catch me on STV's The Hour last week? If not, don't despair, you can catch up on their online player service, here. I'm in part three, and you can watch online until the end of the year.

I showed off a few of my Christmas shopping gifts on the TV, and here is a recap of where to buy. First up is Sarey Poppins, with this perfect idea for a Christmas pressie...

If you pop one of my lavender sachets inside, your bedding smells all dreamy and relaxing as it heats next to your hot water bottle.

And how about an unique and original little something from embroidery genius Angharad Jefferson?

I know a telly addict who'd love one of these...

I also managed to show off some lovely notebooks from Pumpkinsputnik, I am addicted to her work and simply can't stop buying them any time I need a gift!

You can find the perfect gift wrapping embellishments in my etsy and folksy shops, and watch this space for details of how to make your own! I'll be sharing tips with you via Glasgow Craft Mafia in the next few days.

A new product... maybe?

I just made this new pouch as part of a gift for a friend (it holds a gift card). It was fun and quick to make, entirely by hand, so I'm wondering about making good use of my felt and ribbon stashes and making some more. It would certainly count towards my HoardersUnite monthly destash tally...

Any thoughts?

Still working on the destashing

And here is the latest item to come fresh from the stash:

A simple double rib scarf and hat for my friend's little girl, who turns 2 any day now. I've really enjoyed working with the spare felt from the Christmas tree brooch I worked on for my Secret Santa. There's something about little tiny hand stitches and putting lots of care into every one. It's not a task I can do on auto-pilot, and I notice and enjoy every minute.
