Remembering

I am dreaming of sunnier moments in one of my favourite parks, just beneath the flying buttresses, between the memorial and the fountain.  If I had just one sunny spring or summer day to spend in Paris, this would be my itinerary of choice.  With an extra stop off the island at Shakespeare & Company.  I spent a summer writing my dissertation on a blanket on this patch of grass and only really noticed the memorial shortly before I left the city.  I am remembering it today.
